It always seems if I’m introduced at a party or event it goes something like… “This is Kristen… she’s the cake girl”

Honestly, I've always found it to be so endearing and funny, So I thought it would be the most appropriate name for my new dessert company... even though it's SO much more than cake!

 

I was born & raised in Estacada, Oregon. After graduating from Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon in 2006 I moved to Las Vegas to pursue my career in the Pastry Arts. In my almost 20 years in Las Vegas, I worked as a chocolatier at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, took on a position as head pastry chef for a local catering company, created elaborate custom cakes at “Freed’s Bakery”, started teaching cake & cookie workshops, and even opened my first award-winning custom cake studio & bake shoppe “Gimme Some Sugar”.

You might have even seen me on TV: VH1’s “Fabulous Life”, TLC’s “Sister Wives” and of course The Food Network’s “Halloween Wars: season 5”, "Ridiculous Cakes" and  reality series: “Vegas Cakes” season 2.

I made the move back to Oregon 3 years ago which is where this next chapter begins. You can find my fancy small batch desserts all summer long at Duke's Farmstand (Sandy, OR), The Happy Valley Farmer's Market, and other dessert Pop-Ups.
